Getting there with my gigography now, the list of all the gigs I was at, from 1987 up to about now.
It's a natural step from my Best gigs of all time post.
Well that's the theory, but there's A LOT missing.
I have added details from the big bag of old gig tickets that I gathered while I was in London, and a box of old concert tickets and things from Mum + Dad's loft.
Also got lots of gaps regarding bands seen at festivals, they'll prob'ly stay missing, it's so hard to remember. There's a lot missing where I've lost tickets or never had them, most of the guestlist actions during my NME + Popex years + that.
Yeah I know very geeky, let's let that go though, I'm having fun remembering this stuff.
At least I've not started scanning the tickets in yet Of course I have scanned in the tickets now[^But I've lost the bag of tickets before I scanned them all in!]...

Went to both nights, so not the extra afternoon show they did. Shambolic, so fun
Went to both nights, but not the extra afternoon show they did. Shambolic, so fun
Went with Clare + met her brothers for the first time.
This actually might not have been the LEGENDARY album launch do, found a pass with a date on it so guessing it was earlier this year...
An all night indie club thing at Brixton Academy, severl of the promoters got together to put on a super club type thing. Tube home at about 6am.I know I was at a gig before this too, I think it was at the Astoria, will have to find out who. [Googling turns up My Life Story](https://www.google.com/search?q=london%20astoria%20november%201997), though possibly a short set / personal appearance at the gay club after. In my head it was David Devant, as I know someone from Southampton who had come up for it but they weren't big enough to headline the Astoria then were they? They did support My Life Story at some point, so that could have been it.Ticket for the Triple XXX thing anyway, via @adeibiza…
And Dust JunkysXFM sort of night I think, and we went to an aftershow over the road too.…
Rescheduled from 6/6/97 I think. Huge drunken night, I possibly broke my elbow, I will scan the picture in of it...
I saw Helen Love about this time at Dingwalls, this is the only one I have found that fits. They were on Che records at the time + concertarchives.org says they were part of "A Che Night" on this day with Uresei Yatsura. So then did I have this cd^Removed old rocketgirl.co.uk/catalogue/che74 link here.]?+ Urusei Yatsura / [Helen Love / Superstar Disco Club+ Vent-Axia+ che74, Release Date: 0/0/1997+ 3 Track Tour CD.This CD was given out to concertgoers who saw Urusei Yatsura, Superstar Disco Club + Helen Love on tour at Manchester Night & Day (29 September), Glasgow King Tut's (30 September) and London Dingwalls (2 October).Tracklisting+ Urusei Yatsura - Vent-Axia+ Helen Love - We Love You (Does Yr Heart Go Boom Mix)+ Superstar Disco Club - The Abstract Fashion Crisis DayLooks like Megadeth were at the Astoria this night too, I did not go to that.…
This band were so good, too good for this world I think
Looks like I originally had the date wrong for this, I had the 26th, so Ade has come up with a ticket for it and it was really the day after:…
I went to Victoria Park for something or other at this time was it this?…
xfm week of gigs, with Silver Sun, Warm Jets, and someone else. Can't be positive I attended this, but probably. Was a freebie from xfm, pick up tickets from the old doc martens shop in covent garden.Found it from this old recording of the first day of xfm.…
Paid 5x over the odds for a ticket, so we had to get in. Got in the aftershow too, there was just us and Jarvis Cocker there. Ooh did I drop another name? Was definitely very excited about this gig. I'd the album and great reports from Hibbett who had been to see them in Glasgow. We (Nic P and I) went along without tickets so high spirits and a pocket full of cash, so we were fine. Think it was originally about a fiver so we paid someone thirty quid or so. We were in, was a polite + sedate affair apart from us. Met our friend Jody in there who upgraded us to after show party tickets. Not many people in the after show / party bit apart from Jody, us, Dickon from Orlando + Jarvis Cocker out of / off of the Pulp.Definitely one of my best gigs ever, a band I loved at just the right time.…
Geneva, Tiger, Symposium, and Three Colours Red:I did a few dates of this tour while I went to nme.com. I did some sort of tech support, can't even really remember what right now. I think I was just there to help the journo and photographer upload their copy + images to the site. I have some sound desk recordings of these shows somewhere too!…
I know I saw The Beta Band at the Water Rats with Gaz, + remember that it was their first show. This is the only one that fits that. From http://betaband.co.uk/gigography/They were supporting Kings Of Infinite Space + Tam. I thought we saw them with Grandaddy though? There is another gig the following year at the Camden Electric Ballroom so I remember the first one being at the Water Rats.…
Must have been someone more exciting supporting, was it maybe Hooverdam?
plus Rage Against The Machine, Skunk Anansie, Thunder and Three Colours Red + L7. Got freebies from the NME + drank all the money I saved. Kind of lost it about five songs in and ended up in Covent Garden. Well, I have said that for a long time but I'd always arranged to meet Ro in Covent Garden this day.…
Don't remember many bands, very bad weather, I think this was the one we went with no tent and just flip flops on.…
Guessing this one must actually be the album launch do with the free cocktails and so on, do I have a pass or a ticket for this somewhere? I scanned one in at some point.David Devant and his Spirit Wife are AMAZING, and this album launch party was a special time.I thought this gig was the 15th but this pass says 16th.…
Where I met Clare, bless! Hope I got that year right... Also, oddly Sylvester McCoy was there at the after show.…
This gig was on the day of Grandma's funeral, I went along after. Left the funeral, went back to London still in my suit and went here.…
A benefit gig for a journalist Leo Finlay^Removed old google.co.uk/search?q=leo+finlay link here.], with [Ash and possibly Tiger and Formula 1. Matt Lucas was there. Possibly Travis also played[^Removed old visi.com/fall/news/980927.html link here.]...…
Plus dEUS though I got there too late for the support:Now am I mixing this up with the gig the year before? I think the one I went into late still had Deus as support but I'm sure I went downstairs into the LA2, this one is at the Astoria.…
A strangely middle class event for me to be going to when I'd not long moved to London.Went with my flatmate-to-be Gaz.Clare and Emma were at Suede this same night in Folkestone. Don't think we had actually met yet.…
The annual awards ceremony for the NME, aka The Brat Awards. Presented by Mark and Lard. Ooh, it's on youtube.I was not a sit down guest at this one, I was milling around the venue though with my NME staff pass.I originally had the wrong date for this. I have a ticket for a gig on the 27th, would the brats gig have been on the same night as the awards..? No I think not.Was at The Camden Centre, not sure what that is[^Originally I said "Was somewhere in Hoxton I think"].…
NME brat bus tour. I worked on this tour, travelling around with the bands to help with uploading reviews and things, maybe some sound clips of the gigs too? I did have tapes of it at some point. I'm not 100% convinced that I went to this London date, I was definitely at the Manchester and Leeds nights though.Bands are lower down in the importance list than my attendance or not of this one. Geneva, Tiger, Symposium, and Three Colours Red.…
Pavement, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Broadcast, and Mogwai. I must have been working this NME Brats gig mustn't I?…
An NME Brats show with Bis, Kenickie and Dweeb. Were Bis really higher up the bill than Kenickie?I think I knew one of Dweeb, though not at the time. …
NME Brats show? Plus Octopus, Mundy and Stereophonics again apparently. Must have been a week of gigs around this time. I would have been working at this one, I will hopefully gather more info from the internets.…
I remember meeting a virtual-friend from the uk-indie mailing list at this show. This sort of thing was in its infancy then. I must have been living at Nicholson Street and would have walked home from this gig.The record label website scopitones.co.uk says they were in Portsmouth the day before:+ 16/01 Portsmouth, UK - Wedgewood Rooms+ 17/01 London, UK - ULU+ 18/01 Liverpool, UK - Lomaxsetlist.fm has it that it was mostly the new album, makes sense. Set list approximately:+ Rotterdam+ Crawl+ Montreal+ 2, 3, Go+ Kansas+ Blue Eyes+ Dalliance+ The Queen of Outer Space+ Drive+ Dream World+ Real Thing+ Snake Eyes+ Drive+ Venus+ Spangle+ Go, Man, Go+ Kennedy+ What Have I Said Now?…
Leeds Metropolitan University.NME brat bus tour. Manchester University (now an academy venue).NME brat bus tour. I worked on this tour, travelling around with the bands to help with uploading reviews and things, maybe some sound clips of the gigs too? I did have tapes of it at some point.
