I went in late on a whim, missed the support, who might have been Deus. I thought I had the date right and now here's Melody Maker gig guide proof.

Placebo and Deus played this same venue in 1997, and I even have the ticket for that one. Was it rescheduled maybe? Was I even at anything this night? This gigography is full of holes!

I know I went to see Placebo on the day of my grandmother's funeral, Dad's mum. I went after, not instead, I'm not a monster. That was at Brixton Academy I thought, maybe that was the one in 1997 then? But why does the 1997 ticket say that?

I saw Placebo probably 7 times; Mean Fiddler (1996), London Astoria (1997), Brixton Academy (1997), Glastonbury (1997), V Festival @ Hylands Park ('97), Shepherds Bush Empire (1998), + V99 @ Hylands Park ('99), though I still have some bragging tagging to do so this may go up. Part of every gig I went to from '87 to 2026. It's an obvious step from my Best Gigs Ever blog post. Yeah I know it's a bit nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm enjoying remembering these things.
