The Garage 20 Highbury Corner, Islington London N5 1RD
With Victoria. That is a band, not a date.
I know I put my head in the door at this gig, can I count it? I was at three different things this day, on a Tuesday! I know Carter USM was the last one, but I was at something before this too. I see from the listings there are other bands I know and would see in London, but it's very unlikely to be The Cure at Wembley... Camden Dublin Castle had John Moore and Badge, don't know them. Camden Falcon had Vitro and Nugget, same. Camden Jazz Cafe had Ruby Turner, but I've never been there. Camden Laurel Tree had Couch and Inter. The Roundhouse had the Bluetones, but no. The LA2 had Jocasta, Cecil, and The Bigger The God, and I did see them and would go but can't quite imagine I was at the LA2 and left early, it feels like it would have been Camden. Downstairs at the Garage were Smaller, that is more likely, but I do not remember it. Rounding off the rest of the unlikely London shows from this Meloday Maker are Sue and Pollen and Jackwoods at Islington Red Eye, Summit at Union Chapel, and Dial and Peach Fuzz at the Bull and Gate. Maybe there's more in the NME, I'll keep looking...

I was at this one, more from this year in my gigography for 1996. Part of every gig I was at from '87 to 2026. It's a natural step from my Best gigs of all time blog post. Yeah I know a bit geeky, let's let that go though, I'm enjoying reminiscing about these things.
