Reading Festival Reading, Berkshire

Placebo, Queens of the Stone Age, Slipknot, Gorky's, Foo Fighters, Ween, Primal Scream, Daphne and Celeste, JJ72, SFA, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, At The Drive In...

I was on a freebie from Uncle Bob's, did I not watch the headliners at all? I don't remember many of the bands off the poster, no Oasis, Pulp (though we did go to the Pulp warm up a day or so before), Rage Against The Machine etc. Was I just way too cool? Is this one of the years we booked a hotel too? I do remember Daphne and Celeste.

This says I did not stay for Stereophonics, then this says I hardly saw any bands!.

I was at this one, more from this year in Paul's gig history for 2000. I saw Super Furry Animals probably 18 times; Essential Festival @ Stanmer Park ('96), Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms (1996), Phoenix Festival @ Avon Park Raceway (1996), Reading Festival ('96), Mean Fiddler (1996), Manic Street Preachers @ Brixton Academy ('96), London Astoria (1997), Glastonbury ('97), Shepherds Bush Empire ('98), London Astoria (1999), Glastonbury ('99), Brixton Academy ('99), Reading Festival ('00), Kentish Town Forum ('01), Ocean (2002), New Order @ Finsbury Park (2002), Stephen Malkmus @ Royal Festival Hall ('03), and Glastonbury (2003). Part of every gig I was at from '87 to 2024. It's an obvious step from my Best Gigs Ever blog post. Yeah I know it's very nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm enjoying reminiscing about this stuff.
