Reading Alleycat 5 - 6 Gun Street, Reading, Berkshire RG1 2RJ

Some ill advised comments about swastikas saw the band fall right down before the signed goodies I got this day became worth anything... here's to a revival!

I surely originally had this date wrong 1, I have a poster that says I was at Menswear at Portsmouth Pyramids on the 26th October... They also played this venue on the 30th November 1996 and 13th June 1996. I expect this one is meant to be some date in 1996. If I can find the vinyl I got signed at the gig it might give more of a clue - if it wasn't released until 1996 that will do it. To the loft!

I saw them before this at University of Surrey, not in the big room either, but can't find a record of this one yet. Will get back to the gig guides!

At least some evidence from this Melody Maker gig guide. With The Daisies and Subcircus, £3 to get in!

  1. I have nearly every date in this gigography wrong.
  2. And possibly not.
  3. Southampton Joiners.
  4. Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms.
  5. Camden Falcon.
  6. Tunbridge Wells Forum.

I went to this one, more from this year in my gigography for 1996. I saw Kula Shaker at least six times; Essential Festival @ Stanmer Park ('96), Reading Alleycat (1996), Brixton Academy ('97), Glastonbury (1997), V Festival @ Hylands Park (1997), + Kentish Town Forum ('98), though I still have some bragging tagging to do so this may go up. Part of every gig I was at from '87 to 2026. It's a natural step from my Best gigs of all time blog post. Yeah I know very nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm enjoying reminiscing about these things.

Other gigs at Reading Alleycat I have been to are Longpigs ('96), Dodgy ('96), + Catatonia (1996).

Other gigs at Reading Alleycat include Kenickie ('96), Heavy Stereo ('96), Manson ('95), and David Devant and his Spirit Wife (1995).
