Bull and Gate , 389 Kentish Town Road, NW5 2TJ
Actually listed second on the bill in this NME gig guide, Ken / Placebo / Soup / Speed Urchin. Slash's Snake Pit were next door at the Kentish Town Forum
I was not at this one as far as I know, so if I keep tabs on what I was not at it helps me work out what I attended.
I saw Placebo probably 7 times; Mean Fiddler ('96), London Astoria ('97), Brixton Academy (1997), Glastonbury (1997), V Festival @ Hylands Park ('97), Shepherds Bush Empire ('98), and V99 @ Hylands Park (1999), though I still have some bragging tagging to do so this may go up.
