Excellent little pub warm up for his Animals shows / DVD... Sharks and Nazis!
Not sure he had done much stand-up before this gig.
Seems strange now but we heard he was doing this gig somehow and got tickets for it no problem. I remember talking about it online, probably on popbitch a few days later and someone saying "it's no big deal, they're still advertising it". Was definitely a big deal to us at the time. So pretty much Ricky Gervais first gig I would say...
Shark would have found Anne Frank like THAT!

I attended this one, more from this year in my gigography for 2003. I have seen Ricky Gervais at least twice; Crown & 2 Chairmen (2003), + Portsmouth Guildhall ('09), though I still have some bragging tagging to do so this may go up. Part of every gig I was at from '87 to 2026. An obvious step from my Best Gigs Ever weblog post. Yeah I know it's very nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm enjoying remembering these things.
