Either Merridew or Meridew, the census has Meridew. The census info as parsed by myheritage.com has his age in the 1841 census as either 49 or 45 - not sure why they have a four year gap there. I've seen the scanned page of the census + it's definitely a 45 to me, which makes his date of birth about 1796. So hopefully it's the same chap, though it looks like there were alot of Merridews in Winterbourne Stoke in Wiltshire at that time.hat we have some fairly direct evidence in an actual look at the 1841 census and it turned out to be wrong though.
