Reading warmup, got very drunk on vodka red bulls, fell in a bush, and you can see me on the South Bank Show Special that was filmed there. Off to Reading the next day.
Definitely one of my favourite ever gigs.
I heard about tickets somehow and wife 1 (who was a student at the time and lived in New Cross went and got the tickets. Was a lot easier than a warm-up gig like this might have been these days!
I was working at nme.com at the time and was heading off to Reading the next day. Not sure if I lost my laptop or phone at the gig or if I lost them at the festival over the next few days. One or the other though, was a chaotic time.
We had a few drinks before the gig...

I attended this one, more from this year in Paul's gig history for 1999. I saw Blur at least 7 times, and Blur related acts four times; Glastonbury (1994), V Festival @ Hylands Park (1997), Glastonbury (1998), Goldsmiths College (1999), Reading Festival ('99), The Brighton Centre (1999), + London Astoria ('03), though I still have some bragging tagging to do so this may go up. Part of all the gigs I went to from 1987 to 2026. It's an obvious step from my Best Gigs Ever blog post. Yeah I know a bit nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm having fun reminiscing about these things.
Thu Aug 26 1999
Other gigs at Goldsmiths College I went to are David Devant and his Spirit Wife (2001).
Other gigs at Goldsmiths College include Szeki Kurva ('96).
