Portsmouth Guildhall Portsmouth
The ticket is very faded, but I confirmed the date with an old Kerrang... Zed Yago supported, this is the "89 and Headless" (The Headless Children) tour.
I met guitarist Chris Holmes after the gig, loitering by the stage door (me, not him) and got my t-shirt signed. I wonder if I still have it?
This site says REM played there only two days before, I did pick the gigs to go to...
Can barely make out this ticket but it is for this gig:
I told you I met Chris Holmes! Still can't find the t-shirt though.
I was at this one, more from this year in my gig history for 1989. Part of all the gigs I remember going to from '87 to 2025. It's an obvious step from my Best gigs of all time blog post. Yeah I know it's a bit nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm having fun reminiscing about these things.
