This book was short listed for Best Irish Book of 2010, in the Irish Book of the Year Awards.

Harry Clarke (1889-1931) created spectacular stained-glass windows for churches and private patrons in Ireland, England, the United States and Australia. Born in Dublin in 1889, Clarke developed a unique style and technique in stained glass that combined deep rich colours with beautiful, elongated figures that exuded poise and grace. His deep blues and ruby reds became the hallmark of his work. Clarke is considered to rank among the masters of stained glass, with Tiffany, Burne-Jones and the medieval colourists.

"Strangest Genius: the stained glass of Harry Clarke" is a sumptuous, hard-backed, full-colour book that, for the first time, depicts all of Harry Clarke's stained glass windows and panels in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia. Photographer, Michael Cullen (irishphoto.org), travelled all over the English-speaking world taking over 50,000 photographs of Harry Clarke's spectacular windows. Author, Lucy Costigan (lucycostigan.com), selected the top 1,000 images to use as reference for her description and interpretation of the windows, along with Clarke's correspondence at the National Library of Ireland, and the Studios' files at Trinity College Dublin. The book contains a biography of Clarke, his styles and influences, the art and craft of stained glass as well as a complete geographical catalogue of his stained glass work. harryclarke.net/book.html
