Are these my 4xGreat Grandparents?

See here1 on familysearch.org2 (the Mormon's website) where they / someone has transcribed lots of ancient births marriages and deaths and made them searchable; Anthony Clark married Martha Hoar in 1775 in Widley in Hampshire. Why's this interesting? Well the earliest Clarke we have traced so far is James Clarke born 1777 in Widley in Hampshire. So makings some huge leaps here, if James' parents were married not long before he was born, and there were not that many people living in Widley at that time (brief history of Purbrook3 says <270) and not much happened there that year4) then there is a good chance they are his parents, which makes them my great great great great grandparents, pretty cool.

More investigation to do. The surname Hoar is a bit easier to track down than Clarke. It does not seem to be so popular these days FOR SOME REASON...

So hard to find anything from that age online, I may have to get off my arse and look at some real microfiche or something... Just had a peek at freereg.org.uk5 and the closest I can find is Mary Hore marrying James Hiscock6 in Hampshire in 1773. Nothing on Free BMD7 of course because that only covers 1837 onwards.
