Was just reading this news story which is just a puff piece for 1837online.com, which has lots of info, but you have to pay to access it... at the bottom of the news story there's a brief mention of a FREE BMD1 site, which I've found is https://www.freebmd.org.uk/ - They have about 90% of the content of 1837 online, and it's all free!
I wouldn't go to freebmd.com, it only has sponsored links to other sites, not the free stuff that rootsweb1 has above!
The Free BMD site is supported by The Bunker2, who also host http://www.popbitch.com, I know them, small world...
