Blog2026 ≫ Parkrun 232

Not as hot as it has been, but still hot out there. Felt like an effort, especially kilometre four, the gentle uphill for the second time. Was busy out, there was a hen party running too, the bride to be in a veil.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #546. Your time was 00:28:28.

Congratulations on completing your 232nd parkrun and your 211th at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 188th place out of a field of 364 parkrunners. You were the 135th male and came 15th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:24:35.

After the run, to Steep Street for coffee and a fruit and nut bar, while I waited for Lighthouse Comics to open. Then went in to pick up the new Daredevil, and spontaneously picked up Action: Before The Ban 1, a collection of the first twelve issues of Action comic from 1976. Two things here, I didn't realise how much it was before I felt I'd committed to buy it, forty-five quid! And now I see I could get it online for thirty quid. Damn. I'm a terribly shopper, doubly so on pay day weekend.

Later walked into Hythe, to get T2 some exercise and be a haircut. He got a Pokemon card, he was pleased, and then we realised there was a food fair on in Hythe too. So he got some chicken and gravy loaded fries, and I got half a cider and half a real ale, we were both happy. Oh I also bought a load of coffee, some beans infused with rum and coconut and vanilla that everyone says will be a disgusting disaster, and some extra strong Vietnamese beans too. Then T2 was too tired to walk back, so he got the bus, I went via Waitrose and my friend at https://www.curedandsmoked.co.uk and bought wine. Then into the Potting Shed for one too, then home.

Football was good wasn't it? A ten goal thriller. Where was this team in the semi-final??

Light cloud and a moderate breeze, 11 - 21℃.

Guessing 3342 cups of the actual coffee from my espresso machine 1 prob'ly comes to 77.9p a cup (including 4+ years of the actual coffee beans and servicing 1 so not the electricity).
