Blog2026 ≫ Good wedding day

Wife's bro's wedding day was here, so off to Canterbury, all dressed up. Sort of dressed up. No suits and ties, a casual affair, but we had all new clothes, so we looked quite nice I think. Still really pleased with that new shirt, even more pleased when I found the little metal collar stiffeners. Really feels like a quality item.

Ceremony itself was quite short, so back out again to The Miller's Arms while the bride and groom went home with their immediate family. Most people had some feed, and the drinks were OK even though it was a Shepherd Neame. I could just have the one Spitfire and then having to drive home. Then home to get out of my awful shoes. Wife was right, they're probably ready for the bin. Into trainers and untucking the shirt, so ironed that so it still looked alright.

We all got the bus into Folkestone, nice and early for the next phase, so to Keppel's. Some of the party were staying at The View nearby so seemed a good place to wait for them. We used to go here ages ago, kind of forget it is there. It still is and it's probably better now. Then we walked to The Radnor Arms for the actual wedding feast.

We had the whole of the top floor, and everyhing was beautifully laid out. There was music, something we had wondered about, and after the food was finished the tables were moved back for dancing. It was really hot so people started heading the garden, and carried on for the rest of the night. We left about half ten, others carried on until they got thrown out at closing time.

A good day, I may be back with pictures later.

Partly cloudy and a gentle breeze, 13 - 21℃.
