What a ridiculous situation. This plan of deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda to be processed there is just awful on all levels. There's no way it would be fair, there's no way it will work, there's no way it will be cost effective, it's as if they had a competition to come up with the worst plan. This government are hilarious, they make a lot of noise about how strong they are on immigration, when actually immigration has more than doubled since they started getting doubling down on it. This looks good, see the numbers mostly flat until Brexit, a dip during covid and then rocketing up since then. The exact period they were meant to be taking back control and getting tough on it. They make such a fuss about the small boats and the solo males crossing but these are a tiny percentage of the overall numbers.
Now they're coming down hard on the qualified workers that we have to import to do the jobs people here won't do. Now this probably will get immigration numbers down, legal immigration, and it means the social care service is likely to absolutely collapse.
