Blog2023 ≫ Good day in gig history

My own personal gig history I mean of course. Today in 2000 a two gig day out, I went somewhere to see MJ Hibbett first and then on to a clubwhere I saw KISS covers band. But that's not the best day. Today in 1995 in saw Radiohead in Southampton, with tickets I won from Radio One.

But that's not even the best day, THIRTY YEARS AGO today in 1993, Dave and I went to see The Kinks, the actual Kinks also in Southampton, at the Mayflower theatre. Dave just said

no way that was 30 years! I remember thinking Ray D was pretty athletic for an old guy. He was probably our current age 🤔

Ray Davies was born 21 June 1944 so he was only 49 on the day of the gig when Dave thought he was an old guy. He was younger than we are now.
