The funeral as I already said was sad, but went smoothly. Walked from Mum and Dad's down to the crematorium. Don't think I have ever seen it so busy, he was a popular man. It was very moving, especially when my cousin spoke.
From there to a wake at Lee-on-the-Solent sailing club, and good but melancholy chats with aunts and uncles and cousins. Goodbye Our Brian.
Don't remember really going to Lee-on-the-Solent before, though it is close and nice. Must have done as a child, and I kind of think we did on the last day of Fareham Tertiary college, or in the last days of there. I remember buying some really cheap cans of lager with a couple of friends and walking on the beach somewhere around there.
Meeting up with friends later that evening, also Fareham Tertiary college friends, and friends from the same group, but no exact crossover.
