I get up when I want, except on Saturday! Yes finally going to do it, and do a Parkrun on holiday! There are only two in Italy, both on the outskirts of Rome. Both quite some distance actually. I thought I could walk to one, but instead got the tube there, and then walked. And walked. And walked. I found the park where it is, and thought I could see people running to a particular point on the other side of the park. But they were just running. When I found the start of the Parkrun, near to where I entered the park, I could see why I had missed it. There are only a small group who do Caffarella Parkrun1, they get more UK tourists than they do local. Still it was small but perfectly formed. A very hot morning, twice round the park and then a deceptively long finish. I was on for a podium finish I thought, but in the final bit I did not have the legs, and got overtaken. Still, I came seventh, with a better time than I've done in the UK for a while. If I'd been there the week before I'd have been fourth2, though this week was a lot busier3.

I got the tube back to the hotel, and we packed up, ready to move on to our next destination. We have a train to catch to Naples.
I didn't get on as well with Rome this time as on our previous visit. Maybe next time.
