Blog2022 ≫ Prague day three

I left off my Prague write-up with a bit of a cliffhanger, we're into day three of my business trip to Prague, would I go for a run today? Yet again that's a no. Actually the answers to this are already spoiled on this page somewhere as all my exercise stats were posted on the first day. But stay tuned here and don't scroll down if you want to keep it exciting.

This was the second morning in Prague, hotel breakfast again, and I chanced the hot food today. Quite nice potatoes and courgette and onions or something? And baked beans, and then some strange salady pickley mix, plus the regular coffee and juice. Could not have the cereal today, seems the non-dairy milk of the first day was a bit of a special.

Walked to the office for a full day workshop, a repeat for me of one I'd done the week before, coming up with some new ideas. We came up with some of the same ideas again really, but I think that was kind of the point of the workshop.

We found the food court in the mall that the big Tesco was in this time and there was loads of choice of food, so I got a samosa wrap as it was clearly marked as vegan. My friend got a traditional Czech thing that was translated as "sparrow" on his phone. It seemed more like sausage, in a stew, with dumplings again. So he's not completely converted to the vegan diet yet. I got myself an emergency beer in the Tesco and took it back to the hotel. Quite pleased with this beer, though it sounds dodgy. Can't decide wether to have beer, red wine, spirits, or fruit juice? Why not have them all, in a Desperados Sangre beer! Sangria beer, sort of. Don't think you can get it in the UK, shame.

Dinner time comes around again, and have they considered the vegan again? Not quite. I got a bit annoyed again and tried to get out of it and have dinner on my own but again my two workmates wouldn't leave me behind. We all arranged to meet for drinks first, then the meaties would stay in the same place for food, and we'd go off somewhere else, then meet up again for more drinks. When we got to the place they thought they were eating, there was no room for us, I thought they'd booked, but maybe not. We carried on walking and ended up at a bar at one end of the Charles Bridge where I'd been last time I visited Prague. Very nice location, and an OK beer. My two workmates still not drinking though. I suggested eating there too but one said no let's find a vegan place again, he really liked Vegans Prague the day before. The place I found turned out to be a much more fast food type place, and was also close to closing again, though we did get served. Two of us had the vegan burger and one had a curry. Bit basic but all vegan and good.

After we met more workmates and then headed back to the original place, and then faffed and faffed trying to decide somewhere to go. Some went back to the hotel, and I tried to, but one of the people who had backed me up said we should stay, so I did. We walked and walked and ended up at the actually very good Beer Museum. Good for me, shame it was a bit slow to get served. I nearly ordered a flight of beers, should have done, but just went for a half litre of cherry beer.

On leaving, for a bit of an adventure we got the underground back to the hotel, and it was fine. A kind member of the Czech office even bought our tickets. It was easy and I'd definitely go for this instead of taxis next time. Indeed we'd be back on it the next day. I had the beer that I'd bought at lunchtime and put in the mini fridge in my room as a nightcap.

Estimated 414 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 prob'ly comes to £2.34 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 so not the 'leccy).
