Sensibly few drinks on Sunday night meant I got up for a run Monday morning. Really meant to do further but my knee started twingeing at 9km so that was the time to stop and not push it. I ran from Portchester through Fareham and up to near my old college, then back round and back again. Nice to go past lots of interesting places, street names I remember from my teenage years but now only see in the crime reports. I got about as far as the Golden Lion before I had to stop, but from there walked into the town centre again and then home.
Lovely barbecue after that over at Kerry's place. They did a really good spread in honour of Dad's birthday. I did not help at all, I would like to say I couldn't really help at a distance, but I suppose I could have done a bit more. I did contribute to the food but Kez made it all and did a really good job. Nearly everything vegan. Not the chicken legs or pork stomachs though.
I thought of walking all the way back from there, but would not really have known where I was going. I got dropped off at Port Solent again and strolled back from there. Thought about investigating a local pub on the way - probaly the Cormorant - as it was not late, but decided just to head home.
A lovely day, I'm never there on a Monday, nice to be there "off peak" and not be rushing around.
5k: Five km, just over three miles to you.
