Blog2021 ≫ Lovely long weekend ends with a more hectic Tuesday

And another day at Mum and Dad's! At least part of a day. Some time to try and figure out dad's Nest Camera, get it back on the network now he has updated his Sky router. That done, then moved the garden furniture around as there is some strange sap dripping off one of the plants in the corner where they originally wanted it. When Mum moved the last of the chairs there was a little mouse shivering there. Just a small mouse thought, not a Big Mouse.

After we had lunch and were working out the best way to get home they got a call from the doctor, he could see him today. They had been trying to phone up just for some advice, should he keep having to take this spray every day? Every time he gets a chest pain he's supposed to have a squirt of glycerol or something similar. It seemed to be happening too frequently, they only wanted some reassurance about it but it got close to an ambulance being called. It's just not possible to talk to a doctor these days is it? Was it ever? Are things really as bad as they seem or is it just that when we were younger we didn't need to see a doctor, so never noticed that it was actually quite hard? I'm sure it's not the fault of the government.

This last minute panic meant we had to rethink trains, so Mum drove us to Havant and we had to run from the car to get our train. Did we have a valid ticket for this train? The barrier did not think so and did not let us through, we were so close to missing our train.

We went via Victoria and just had time for a Gregg's vegan sausage roll before our high speed train, and then Clare was waiting for us at Folkestone West.

Lovely evening so we didn't even unpack just went out to The Clarendon for a couple of drinks and a game of Top Trumps looking at the sea.

Back to work today. Everyone's thinking about the plan's for us to go back into the office, not sure many people are keen. Also it doesn't sound like these flexible season ticket ideas are going to save anyone any money. It saves you a little bit I think if you go in two days a week, which sounds reasonable and normal. Our work might want us to go in three days a week, imagine, so we will have to pay the full commuting whack of about £700 a month. Paying per day works out at about £900 a month. My cryptocurrency went up today, I'm back in profit. Have I saved enough to retire yet?
