Blog2020 ≫ We did a trial school bus run

Up early this morning to do a trial bus run for thing one. Next term he has to get the bus to school, and Wednesdays are the only days we can try out the school bus in advance. He has no school today, but the secondary school is open, so the bus is running. Bit of rain, but all went well. Some slight confusion with another parent who had got the message I would be taking all the kids on this bus trip, sorry, no.

After we went to Morrisons and bought doughnuts. I found new "fruit salad" doughnuts I can eat! A healthy treat! Ah, turns out they contain neither fruit nor salad, it is just a flavour of jam.

Now back to supervise school project work, which is hard work. Both boys are working on their independent projects, which have to be scanned in and sent to school. We should just have done them on the computer to start with. One is doing family tree, and has been writing a piece on Thomas Winter (1509), as far back as we can go. Can you trace your way from him back to me? Or from me up to him? It took me a few goes... The other has been doing an A-Z of animals and for Y has chosen a yo-yo penguin. One small detail is there is no such thing. I'm going to leave it in though, it's page 25 / 26 they'll not pick up on this... Then he has a school party today where he can see his friends for the end of term which is great, he's really missed it. I must not forget to take him in.

We were hoping to go to Luben tonight, and indeed were booked. However they cancelled us, they're not opening on a Wednesday now so we're rebooked for tomorrow.

I've been spending my time usefully and productively by scanning in more old gig tickets. I've been investigating Wolfsbane at the Marquee Club, 1991, one of my top five gigs and struggling a bit as there's almost no info online. What info I could find was slightly contradictory. It's OK though as I realise the document gig that I can find, that I have a scanned in flyer for, is from 1992 and not 1991 like my one is. Just coincidence they were both at the beginning of October. Probably my memory is not playing tricks on me an it really was a Sunday like I originally thought. Still can't figure out how I went to the gig, with luggage, and then got a train from London on to Rugby after the gig though.
