Blog2019 ≫ A very rare double night out

Saturday night out out! Clare bought me tickets for Rob Newman for my birthday, and we did not forget to go. The boys had a sleepover at grandpa's so at 6pm we were out. Went straight to Home, it was nice but not busy. I thought it would be just the place for the pre-gig crowd to be, but no-one in there. Tickets say 7:30 but that can't be actual show time can it? Couldn't find out from the website, but at 7:20 I popped into the Quarterhouse and asked and yes, he's on stage at 7:30. So ran back, bolted drink and headed back to the venue to order more, and interval drinks. Just got seated in time.

Show was a work in progress but was very good. Rob Newman is a curious mix of young Rob Newman, Tony Slattery, Russell Brand, and an antique dealer from Midsomer Murders these days. The show was a lot of philosophy, and very funny. I am not sure what this is the warmup for, a big tour show?

After we went back to Home for a couple more, then got a cab to the Inn Doors. It was closing, but persuaded to stay open for just one more for us, lovely!

Just remembered I drove the beetle in to town and left it there, so must go and fetch that in a bit. Raining horribly here, adding to he "we didn't get Glastonbury tickets" mood.
