Blog2019 ≫ Pictures of the sea washing over the sea walls at Sandgate

I could see evidence of this when running back along the seafront yesterday, how the stones were all being forced back up through the drainage holes onto the path. Here you can see the sea rising over the wall though1, impressive stuff. Friend at work took that picture.

I did not really update on yesterday's run did I? I ran totally the wrong way. I should have gone out along the canal path where it is sheltered, and then back along Princes Parade, where the strong winds would have blown me to a new record for sure. Instead at the last minute I decided to run up Horn Street2 then along the top and down Military Road, then back along the seafront. The wrong way along the seafront, into the wind. So oddly not only was my uphill time better than my flat time, it was better than my downhill time too. Ground was wet and slippy with leaves.

I ran past the Inn Doors, but not too close so I wouldn't be tempted to sack off the run and go in there.
