Blog2019 ≫ Reinstated an old raspberry pi

Been having problems with my "main" raspberry pi, it keeps disappearing off the network. This is the one I use for the home automation calendar, but I think I'd overloaded it. I was using it to monitor the music playing in the house and "scrobble" it to my last.fm account1 too. This is how I keep track of what I'm listening, and generate the "pie of rock" and things. I've moved the monitoring of music over to another raspberry pi now, take the burden off the main one. Will see what difference that makes. No gaps in my music monitoring since then and the home automation pi is still up without being restarted.

This reminds me, what happened to my MagPi2 subscription? I had this on direct debit, but it stopped coming about a year ago. I assumed it had folded, but it seems not. I'm not still being charged for it, maybe they just lost my details in some GDPR update. I know I did think about cancelling it, maybe I actually did one time and forgot?

I have a big stack of magazines now that I should offer to a code club or library or something. One step at a time though, I only just threw out the Pebble watches and old Dyson, and I still need a bit of a lie down after that.

Maybe I'll finally get rid of that furniture in the study this month? Maybe.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
