Blog2019 ≫ Birthday weekender: the Dolphin

⬆️Saturday birthday, lawks 47

I went on ahead to scope out the Dolphin in Old Portsmouth. Clare and I had been before, and I'd been on a fairly recent pub crawl. It was better than I remembered, lots of ale choice and two real ciders too. Also luckily, yes, a USB charging oint on every table. An odd mix of quiet locals and then suddenly large hen parties and groups coming in. One rowdy lot had a huge round of vodka red bulls and then disappeared again, and a regular at the end of the bar charmingly mineswept one that was unfinished. Clare arrived, charged her phone, we had a pint then the conversation got round to playing pool, so nothing else would do. We were on a mission looking for a pool table.
