Blog2019 ≫ After the wake I went to the Cormorant

After we got back from the wake at the Seagull, I still needed exercise. So changed out of my funeral suit and went for a walk around Portchester. Had been meaning to go in the Cormorant for ages as I couldn't remember what it was like (and it must be better than the Seagull). And it is! It was very nice and comfortable, we must go there again.

I sat for half an hour with a pint of HSB and read the Hamish Macbeth book that I'd bought from the charity book stall at the station. I first picked it up thinking it was an Agatha Raisin, but kept it anyway. And it's the same style, an easy reading and jolly murder.

Two pubs named after sea birds, I only just thought of that. They have always been pub names first to me.
