A quick video, more of a shaky unfocussed show off rather than a useful demo, but see me clicking the buttons on my phone to water the tree in the garden:

By the same technology that lets me control it by phone, I can programme the hose to come on at intervals using a calendar, or just when certain conditions are met (the temperature goes above a certain level, or there is no rain forecast)l

Next step: connect the hose to the irrigation system instead of just letting it flap about over the tree like that. It'll do for now though. Feeling pretty pleased with myself!

The previously mentioned syphoning effect means I might have to rethink my lawn watering plans. The pop up sprinkler is always going to be at a lower point than the source of the water, so I won't be able to use the water butt and pump as I am right now.
