⬆️Folkestone on TV

I broke into a cold sweat when I saw the TV prog was about my newly adopted hometown, but as it turned out, Folkestone didn't fare too badly compared to Dover, while Southend was portrayed as place to definately avoid after dark! One daylight scene was of an unfamiliar view of the harbour, (propably shot from upstairs at the Bursten) - it looked like a Cornish fishing village and I thought 'thats a nice place - wouldn't mind living there' - 'oh yer... I do'

This is my site The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while before that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for favourite places + things, and I hear it was a useful resource for others who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. My name is not Gerald BTW, the name comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
