those Oyster Cards do that sometimes... who knows why. I think they just don't have their act together yet... all the machines aren't working properly. Some of the further out stations (british rail) don't even HAVE those electronic swipey things!!! I think, generally they're good, and do what their supposed to, but they should have been more thoroughly thought out before they started selling them!!!!
