⬆️Southampton Clarkes

Hi Jean,

Our James was born c 1777 in Widley (he was a cordwainer,a posh name for shoemaker, then he became a brewer Victualler) Hampshire, he married Elizabeth COLE (b 1794 Chichester West Sussex) they married in 1813 in Chichester. In the 1851 census they were running the King & Queen Inn Cosham High Street. Their children were Caroline, Mary Dash and James Cole.(There may be others that I have not found yet). The King & Queen was run by the Clarke's up until about 1910.There are three generations that bear the name of James Cole Clarke. I would be interested in your research.
