Commuting today. Seven empty seats on this block of eight as I got on the train, and I got the lady in the one seat that was taken to move her bag. It looks weird, she must think I'm weird, we were then sat next to each other in an otherwise empty carriage... I've got my favourite seat alright? Journey to work uneventful apart from that. Work likewise, plenty of spare seats there too. I did not need to be in, my meetings were all online. So a bit annoyed to waste EIGHTY QUID on train fare the day before pay day. I'd have been just as annoyed if it was the day after pay day, and it's better than wasting that every day.
Falafel wrap from lunch, and home. Was thinking if I run I could make the earlier train, but if course it's way too hot to move fast. Hottest day of the year so far, probably why the office was quiet. At least 36℃ where I was, over 38℃ elsewhere in London. Streets also quite quiet, people in other offices had the same idea.
When I did get back to the station, the earlier train was running fifteen minutes late, so I did get it. It's busier of course, platform very busy with the original passengers and the johnny-come-latelies like me. Not standing near the family with suitcases or anyone old, young, or pregnant meant I got a seat and didn't have to give it up. Maybe half way back as I write this, though we seem to have paused again... Still could be worse there's one derailed at Lewes.
Moving again, so assuming all ok it will be a hot walk back from the station soon. Then a quiet evening, then waking up to the joys of pay day. My only real plans for the weekend are washing and ironing though.
Surely this is a Marvel villain thing? Doesn't Whiplash have these in Ironman?
A clear sky and light winds, 17 - 29℃.
