I'm a bit behind, I know. Three Mariners and the Potting Shed on Friday? I think I said that. Then a hot and slow parkrun. Then mostly chores on Saturday. Some clearing out, even cleared out some Lego and took it to the charity shop. Not a significant amount, just a couple of sets that looked about complete and would make a nice package for someone to buy. Sorted the rest back into big boxes and it's going in the loft. Then started cleaning the oven, this is a spray-it-on-and-leave-it-overnight job. So after all the jobs were done, we're free! We had plans to go back to The Hope for noodles for our tea, but as we were ready about an hour before the kids we started walking in to Hythe and left them to get the bus. This meant we had plenty of time to go back in the Potting Shed. I was there with my wife, it was such a rarity. Luckily we coincided with actual friends that wife actually knows so she was very happy to sit and chat while we had some lovely cider. Then wife had a half of real ale. I will conver her, I will. When we did meet up with the boys again the noodles were great, and the beer there was pretty good too. A lovely evening was had by all.
Sunday more jobs, finished the oven and it's ok. Might give it another go soon. We Badminton in the morning of course, can't forget that. That's going to be our new family activity on a Sunday morning. I've told the cricket club that we won't be going back to cricket but we've ordered new rackets, so we will be going back to badminton book to court again for next Sunday. After that, preparation for a very late night watching football. We had our Sunday dinner, that was very nice, quiche and salad again, then settle down for an evening. When everyone else went to bed. I stayed in my chair. Tried to snooze, set an alarm for one in the morning to watch the football. I did sleep for a little bit and I woke up about half twelve and could see on the screen that the game had been delayed by another hour. So set my alarm again for two and tried to go back to sleep. It more or less worked, sleeping very fitfully. The game was amazing1 So action-packed; the goals, the penalties, the fouls, the dubious decisions and the actual result, going through knocking out Mexico. T2 was very unhappy the next morning that Mexico got knocked out. He has no loyalty to England at all, only to his five quid in the sweepstake.
It's absolutely mental that Trump has got involved and had a word with FIFA to get the American player's red card suspended so he can play in the next game 1. Shocking corruption.
Sunny and a moderate breeze, 15 - 26℃.
