Blog2026 ≫ Parkrun 223

Should have been in good time for parkrun this week, even after dropping T1 off for his volunteering. Parked up and then realised / remembered that the course was back to normal again. After months of The Leas being partially closed it is opened up again, so the start was a good kilometre away from where it has been. So I had a five minute run to the start to get there in time.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #534. Your time was 00:25:25.

Congratulations on completing your 223rd parkrun and your 202nd at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 87th place out of a field of 353 parkrunners. You were the 70th male and came 11th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:24:35.

That little warm up probably did me a favour, that's my best result since January.

Was raining when I headed out but got warm by the end of it. I was in triple Patagonia for this one, the shorts 1, the socks, and the waterproof layer, and that was overkill. But I did not overheat.

Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze, 5 - 14℃.

  1. Always wear the same shorts, not often the rest of it. Update in Apr 2026; I've been running 169 times now since I got the Patagonia running shorts (and 34 times on the treadmill).
