Jumped up this morning as I thought it was the day to take wife to work, so she could walk to Sandgate after for the quiz. That however is tomorrow's plan. As I was up I took her in anyway and will pick her up later. Yesterday also off schedule, they did not go to their regular Tuesday quiz, so surely the boys are short of prize money. We had better do well tomorrow.
Yesterday we were kindly offered some Cirque Du Soleil tickets for the weekend, and we wanted to go, but could not convince the boys. T2 would come with us, T1 would rather stay home. We wanted to go to London anyway, but as a four, as T1 missed out last time. So we didn't want to go without him, and he wasn't even tempted by us going to the show and him hanging out at the Level Up video game thing for a few hours while we were in there. Would I have wanted to go to London and hang out on my own for a few hours at this age? I think I would but maybe not. Not sure he has an idea of all the delights there are on offer there. He's possibly just getting in to skateboarding, went skating instead of going to the gym earlier this week, if he was more into that (and had his own skateboard) hanging out at the South bank for a few hours would have been just the ticket I expect. So no London this pay day weekend, but maybe the following one. He has not abandoned the gym, I had to pick him up from there yesterday.
Work doesn't feel busy this week but I can feel a lot looming up. I have tomorrow and Friday off and still some holiday to use the next few weeks, but after that I'll be right back into it.
Have enjoyed going through some NME and Melody Maker gig guides covering the time I moved to London, it's filling a few gaps in my personal gigography. Thirty years ago today I was at University of Surrey for The Bigger The God, one of a run of Sunday night freebies that was part of my "twenty gigs in twenty days" (or was it just twenty bands in twenty days?). I know I did it but I definitely don't have a record of them all. Hoping to find the rest in these old music papers.
A lot warmer this week, up to 17℃ in London today apparently.
Sunny and a gentle breeze, 7 - 13℃.
