Wednesday's day off was wholesome. We went to Dover Castle, a proper half term day out. T1 at work again so dropped him off first, then we drove to Dover. Picked something for wife's tea in M&S first, but I balked at the prices of things. Can I make this at home for free? So nothing for me there. On to the castle, it was nice but freezing and windy. Just a walk around the keep this time, then a cafe lunch, then home again.
Home via Tesco where I picked up ingredients, whatever was going cheap. I had seen bhajia fries in M&S surely I can make something like that? I had spices and potatoes, all I needed was gram flour and coriander. Half price coriander in Tesco, and some cheap mushrooms too, but gram flour only in big packs. I went to the Nepalese shop and got a 500g bag, which is only 5x as much as I need. So hopefully less waste. I did potatoes and mushrooms in bhajia batter and cooked them in the Ninja and they were excellent.
A big birthday today in the family, and some happy news too that I should not share in case I am ahead of the relevant people, but something to look forward to.
Wednesday was thirty-five years since I saw Motorhead at Portsmouth Guildhall!
