Blog2025 ≫ Different load out for work this week

Load out? That's what they call the initial set of kit and weapons 1 you start one of these multiplayer games like Call Of Duty isn't it? I had to check this with children, I think we've got it. Anyway here is my new commuting set up. Or perhaps temporary commuting setup.

Relatively new sling bag with coffee cup

I have a gig to go to in London this week and have to take my laptop along to it, so want to be as lightly packed as I can. This is the new bag, the one I often refer to as the stab-proof bag. It's not stab-proof but it has got some slash-proof anti-theft technology in. It's maybe half the size of my normal commuting backpack, which in itself is only just big enough. I don't have to take a power supply to work any more, so this reduces the amount of space I need. I can just about put my coffee cup in, with laptop, Private Eye for the train, and snack bars for emergencies.

Coffee cup is there for size comparison, but of course you'd have to know how big my coffee cup is. It's slightly bigger than a cola can, but I only had a beer can to hand, which would give the wrong impression. I know the standard size comparison unit is the lego man, but they were all out of reach too. I might revisit this.

I tried it out last week and it was fine. I didn't have a normal work day, possibly didn't even need laptop. I did use it in the end, and everything was fine.

Wife says I have overthought this, she is clearly a maniac.

Sign up here to join Octopus Energy 2, there is some today, maybe because of all that wind?

Ooh yeah Monday morning about time for coffee! I had one too late yesterday, about 4pm, maybe that's why I didn't sleep so well.

Estimated 2726 cups of coffee ☕️ from my espresso machine 3 prob'ly comes to £0.90 a cup (including 3+ years of coffee beans and now servicing 3 but not the 'leccy).
