Been busy with work, busy with running around, and now a busy social weekend.
Everyone in the industry has got one eye on Marks and Spencer, and now Co-Op and Harrods being hacked. Who's next?
The council elections were insane. Not a disaster around here, I voted tactically this time, and got the result. We thought we were voting to keep the tories out, but they seem to have done that themselves. Last time the tories beat the lib-dems by only about twenty votes. This time round the tories were wiped out by Reform, but still our local Lib Dem guy Tim Prater beat them. Not by much though! He got a similar number of votes to last time, and the reforms got about as many as the tories did last time, while the tories got about half what they did. So probably a higher turnout than last time? The polling station definitely looked busy. Clare said it was busy when she went late afternoon and it was busy when I went down just after eight.
I'd been in London all that day for a team day. So had to do a quick presentation, then enjoy the others presentations. There was a quiz on user experience and I won it, I am the best. Then we went to Bounce to play table tennis and eat pizza. There was plenty of food, and more than enough free drinks, especially as I wasn't drinking. I didn't think I was going to even play table tennis there, but I did and enjoyed it. It's augmented with cameras and projectors so you can play games where you have to get the ball in certain places on the table. Was fun.
Last night we went to the school for the production of Spamalot that T2 was in, and it was great. Could have done with seeing a bit more of him on the stage, he lurked at the back as much as he could, but the whole show was good. So, no Potting Shed for me on a Friday night! After we came back Clare and I sat up late watching Have I Got News For You and then some Michael Palin travel programmes we found on Channel Five. We'd watched the one on Nigeria earlier in the week so this time it was North Korea.
Today mum and dad have blitzed our front garden, it looks good, and then tonight we're off to Aspendos for a meal. And then maybe back for more TV.
Still got a full weekend ahead of us because of the bank holiday. We will do some holiday planning, but also try and get out for a beer too.
Sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, 7 - 18℃.
