Another part of my exciting home automation delivery yesterday was actually loads of batteries. I got replacement rechargeable battery packs for the XBox, a load of rechargeable AA batteries, and then some regular CR2032 coin cell batteries that the IKEA motion sensors need. These are not rechargeable, which I don't like, but I'm not sure how often they need replacing. I knew I had one to replace in the cloakroom light sensor, it stopped working in December. Shocking, having to turn the light on and off by hand! So, I thought, I should put some sort of little label in with the batteries this time, with the date on. A reminder for Future-Paul, so he'll know how long they last. I took the cover off, and look, I already did this last time!
But does that mean "January 2015" or "January 15th in some unknown year?".
This is like "you gotta remember to go back in time and steal your dad's keys and leave them here for us so thehy're here now", maybe I am actually a time traveller. If that was the case though I would have made the date clearer. This time I have written "Feb '25", so I'll know. Still not clear if I'm going to be replacing these again in a year, or ten years.
Gah changing the battery didn''t make it start working again, but reinstalling it did.
