Having written up the journey to the gig and the pre-gig outing, here is the gig. Most of this I will steal from someone else's website.
Most people were already in The Guildhall, so no queueing. Well not until we got to the bar. Had a look at the merch stall, but just out of curiousity really. £35 for a t-shirt, £20 for a poster, or £170 for a signed poster! Other autographs for sale too, hmm, you're supposed to get your autographs by hanging around after the gig aren't you? And they should be free.
We just got to the bar as the support act ended, so didn't see him. A solo artist, possibly Swedish, I picked up from other conversations.
Didn't see anyone else I know there, thought there was an outside chance. Everyone there was surely checking out what everyone else was wearing, everyone looking for a more obscure previous gig t-shirt. Everyone gets reprinted old gig t-shirts online now though so nothing is that impressive. Lots of people in Cult t-shirts, what happened to not wearing the t-shirt of the band to their own gig? Only one person complimented me on my Motley Crue.
We found a place to stand, it was easy, an older crowd to most gigs I have been to.
The set list:
I think I knew about half of these, not bad. And all of them were good.
Somewhere after half way through we went for a loo break. Had to go upstairs, and the doors back to the upstairs part of the gig were all open. For some reason they were open, and people were allowed to stand in the door way. This was a great way to view the rest of the gig! Normally security would be clearing people from the exits like this, but no, they were ok with it.
I can put our view about here:
We finished our drink in the bar and were the last ones out of the venue. We got the same fast bus back to Portchester, and home and in bed at a reasonable time.
