This is making it hard to update here! That and being busy of course. Internets went down yesterday, they have brief flashes of coming back. This morning still down. Everything looks ok but is just unusably slow. The provider seems to be ok but if I do manage to get onto the router that can't seem to run diagnostics outside the house. Still investigating, and have got up a bit early to do so.
I have disconnected everything from the router, plugged the laptop straight in with ethernet, and all is good, getting full speed internet and I can post this. Then when I plugged the switch in (not the Nintendo Switch but the box that gives me more ethernet sockets in the lounge) it all goes off again. The only things connected when I do that are the Sonos lamp speakers, the homeassistant home automation hub, and the hardly used IKEA home automation hub. Could one of them be the problem? I want to blame Sonos because they've been breaking things recently
Will get this message out, but then if I don't update in a while you will know there are still problems.
Friday night I went back to the Potting Shed for the first time in about four weeks. The landlord spotted that I was cutting down on the booze, I hope he doesn't go out of business now. Then yesterday no parkrun, there was a festival on The Leas so I just ran round Hythe, my old route really. Past Waitrose, to the sailing club, and back along Princes Parade. It was another very hot day so not an easy run, and a bit slower than usual. Then after I'd done 5k I realised I was still 1km from home and had a tip run booked in ten minutes, so had to run again.
Tip run done, and some jobs then we all walked into Folkestone. Missed that festival entirely but sat in the Leas Cliff Hall balcony bar for one (a very very nice spot overlooking the beach) and then to Aspendos for a Turkish meal. Also a nice spot, it's like being on holiday round here. A not drinking day for me, I had turnip juice. No really! Even our server could not believe I was ordering it. It's very spicy she says. It tasted of pickled onions. Everyone tried it and hated it, even a lady on the next table.
Şalgam or şalgam suyu (turnip juice), pronounced "shal-gam", is a popular Turkish traditional fermented beverage from the southern Turkish cities of Adana, Hatay, Tarsus, Mersin, Kahramanmaras, İzmir and the Çukurova region. The name of the fruit is a Persian loanword meaning turnip
Right to try plugging things back in again...
Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze, 13 - 23℃.
5k: Five km, just over three miles to you.
