No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes. And did I have the wrong clothes! Got up early after a night out in Sandgate, and then a too late night in watching old Top Of The Pops. Weather horrendous, so I wore a hoodie AND a hat AND a coat over my running top. Got there just in time to start right at the back, and had a so-so run. Bit of a plod round, it was quite an effort, and the wind and the rain did not help.

Last night went out in Sandgate for a change, a Sandgate Safari we called it. Clare gave us a lift to The Golden Arrow. It says "cask ales" on the sign outside, but they didn't seem to have any at the bar, so we left without a drink, and walked to The Providence. Providence was lively, full of noisy builders, gave the place a slightly villainous air. There was a real ale on, don't think they shift much of it, it wasn't quite right, so left without finishing it. Not a good rate so far, an average of less than half a pint per pub! Next to The Famous Ship Inn, and that was more like it. Warm, cosy, comfortable, and also lively. Two real ales on and they were both quite good. Saw some other friends in there, from the Inn Doors days. Seems that's where they all go now, so I will go back again. There was an actual famous actor in there, eating, David Haig. He was in Four Weddings And A Funeral1 and The Thin Blue Line1 and all sorts of things. I bet he's done a Midsomer Murders.
Next stop the chip shop, and we thought about going to Docker but as we were still eating we walked on to The Clarendon and had a very nice pint in there. Think that's the latest I've been in that pub, normally we do a very early shift if we're going there.
Don't trust this weather report, but it has got less evil out there now. Just having my second coffee, then we're all heading out. First to The Sandgate Hotel give that a try for lunch, and then on to Walmer Castle for some christmassy event.
Light rain and a fresh breeze, 6 - 13℃.
Estimated 1434 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 prob'ly comes to £1.14 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the 'leccy).
