Blog2023 ≫ Did my Feet On The Floor at Tesco

Tesco likes everyone in the offices taking a share working on the shop floor at this time of year. I've not done it before, because, er, covid or something? This year I did it, signed up for a shift at the Tesco up the road, and I did it today.

A mate who also works in the same team was doing the same shift as me, but when we got there they had no record of us at all. We had signed up for the food bank food collection service, but they don't do the same one at this Tesco. So they just put us on shelf stacking, in the crisps aisle. It was quite enjoyable really, but then I did bimble about a bit. If I was doing that all day as a job someone would kick me up the arse to move a bit faster I'm sure. I was able to help several customers find things too, with my insider Tesco knowledge.

I might even go back.

Weather was poor today, but we were indoors for the whole thing, so not as cold as it might have been if I had been on the door doing the food bank bit.

Light rain showers and a moderate breeze, 1 - 5℃.
