Hmm, pay day today and it is short again. Last month I was expecting slightly more pay, because of some overtime1 and I got slightly less pay. The difference seemed to be about the amount that I think I owed2 in tax from earlier in the year and I had just chosen the "take it from my tax code" option in order to pay it back. So far so good. This month though my pay is even shorter. Now the total amount removed is less, but the total amount of pay I received is even less than last month. Hoping it is just the tax, and they've taken too much, and I'll get it back. Will try and phone up today.
I'm fully approving of paying the full amount of tax, but if you owe money don't offer for it to be taken from your tax code.
Going to have a reshuffle while I sort it out, the amount that is missing is only what I would have put into premium bonds this month so if I push that back to next month all is fine again.
A gig from far back in my gig history today, Under Neath What at the Marquee Club right back in 1989. There's a ticket, but the ticket doesn't have a date on. I got a free 7" vinyl at the gig though, and that does have a date on.
Light rain and a moderate breeze, 3 - 11℃.
- Actually being on call, but that's sort of overtime.
- I'm still not sure I owed anything as it was a special scheme for employees to own shares in the company they worked for, but I probably needed an accountant to figure this out for me so just paid the tax.
