Blog2023 ≫ No parkrun today

Well there was a parkrun today, but the weather is horrific. I would normally go for it anyway, but a) it's worse than normal, 40mph winds still, b) I had a fairly heavy night out, c) still slightly ill, and d) it's these cursed shorts probably. I've only been out twice in this Patagonia shorts and I've had them for seven weeks now.

Got some work done yesterday, but it wasn't as productive as I'd hoped. Ah just started writing "I might do some more tomorrow just so I've got something to show" but no, of course. After work Clare gave me a lift to The East Cliff Tavern, a tucked away pub in Folkestone that we don't go to very often. Super quiet but good real ale from Kent Brewery. Then we walked up to The Firkin Alehouse for one, and pressured the friend who was after getting an Indian into getting Nepalese instead at the Annapurna. I always heard good things about it but I'd never been. Lots of vegan options on the mneu, it was good, I had some super spicy noodle dish1. Then a taxi home.

Cold today as well as the wind and the rain, so the heating came on again this morning. Also my watch just went ping to tell me of a storm warning. Bit late I think.

Looks like some of my stats are coming back here after Garmin did some update about six weeks ago that blocked access to it. It's still not giving me my weight and heart rate stats but mystep count is back, and so would my exercise tats. If I did any exercise.

I can't catch up on some work tomorrow because I'm off to London! Meeting Andy and we're off to Camden Underworld to see Love/Hate. I've had these tickets for about three years, it was postponed a few times because of covid. I absolutely have to be on the last train at 11pm, the only other option is an hour before that. I would have arranged to stay over if it weren't for a certain birthday the following day...

Speaking of which I have to go out this morning to get some final bits for that, and then we're off for bowling and pizza this afternoon.

Oasis twenty-eight years ago today, at Earls Court, was their biggest gig to date I think.
