Blog2023 ≫ Hmm trying to onboard the PIR in the hallway

Like I said I was going to onboard another of the PIRs (motion sensors) from the hallway into Home Assistant. This means disconnecting it from the current IKEA setup, where it is connected to the one bulb in the hallway, and then reconnecting it to Home Assistant. I'm doing this because then I can connect it to more than one bulb, so it canturn on the light in the hall below and the hall above too for maximum safety. Or I could use them to work out if someone is going up or down the stairs maybe? And I'm sure there's lots more I can do. However... right now it is disconnected from IKEA, so not doing anything at all, but when I try to connect it to Home Assistant it doesn't appear with all its features. This is what the last two did though, so I think I just have to bide my time, and then it will ping to life, and then I can add it properly. This possibly means no light in the hallway until it's done. Hopefully no-one has left a school bag at the top of the stairs for me to trip over in the dark.
