It only just occurred to me that I could isolate the leaky bit of the house, it has its own isolation valve. I should have turned that off when I first spotted the damp. Most of the damage was probably already done but maybe not.
Plumber not coming until tomorrow now and that's just to look at it and maybe not even fix it.
