Blog2023 ≫ The thunderstorm properly arrived overnight

We had a ridiculous amount of rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning. At first I was only getting flashes of lightning far out to sea, then could occasionally hear the thunder too. I was watching a great film "Nobody" with Bob Odenkirk at this time. He was in the film, I wasn't watching it with him. Anyway lots of shooting, maybe that disguised some of the thunder, but by about 1am it was right overheard. Clare still not home by this point, she was driving back from Gravesend in it.

Today though, lovely day, hot and sunny. No parkrun but the boys and I went into Folkestone with Clare when she went back into work. The Leas is all set up like a festival site in preparation for the air show tomorrow. We had a look round, then went to The Punch And Judy for lunch. They liked it, I think it's got worse though, even less choice of beer. Burgers were quite good but expensive for just burger and chips I think.

We went back to the Leas for ice cream for dessert, even I had a vegan one from the kiosk outside the Leas Cliff Hall. Then we got the bus back. I have mowed the lawn and done some work, an issue that I thought I had a brainwave on. I was mostly right but still not solved it so will sleep on it again.

Pizzas for them for tea and I will cook something, and maybe earlier to bed today.
