Blog2023 ≫ Holiday 2023 - to Portchester

Off next morning (28th) to Portchester. We had a terrible drive there, not quite sure what it was, but it took us over four hours. The car was properly overloaded with things for the different parts of our trip, but I think it was just the roads rather than the weight of the car.

We stayed in at Mum and Dad's and had a lovely family dinner. Three family dinners at least, there was a lot of food. Kez and family came up too and we all ate and drank and played games. We got more birthday gifts and I got some extra vinyl from nephew J. We had to leave some things until next time as the car was overloaded, but we did manage to sneak in a very very early christmas gift of some Lego flowers.

The death of Sinead O'Connor prompted Kez to tell the tale of the time we saw Sinead O'Connor at a Transvision Vamp gig in Portsmouth. I think she told this story a few times.

Next morning I had planned to run. I had brought my running gear and planned to do Fareham parkrun, but we decided to head off as promptly as possible to the next part of the holiday: Stonehenge.
